Today was the first day of the rest of our lives...

Steve got a Job!!! He started today at Puget Sound Orthopedics specializing in Orthopedic Surgery. It all came together quickly and we are really excited about the next phase of life. It's a great job, we are really blessed. Some of the things Steve likes most about his job are.... it's only 15 minutes away, he gets a raise every six months, after the first six months he gets a 1/2 day a week off, after he's been there a year he gets a full day off a week. (But, will still have call shifts, so, I'm sure he'll still be working a lot.) The Doctor he is working with is LDS which is nice because they have a lot in common. In the fall he will get to work with local High School Football teams as their team Health Care Provider. Which he's excited about. And he gets to do Surgery which has always been want he wanted to specialize in.
These first couple of weeks he is just shadowing until he is officially licensed in about a month. We both had a really good feeling about this job from the start and we are so happy that all of our sacrifices and hard work will finally start to pay off.
Today at the breakfast table I told Jaxson that Daddy got a job and he was at work. Jaxson said, "Daddy's not in the bed anymore?" (The last couple weeks we've been sleeping in and in the morning we wake Steve up and let the kids jump on the bed.) Then he said, "But, he'll come back again." I said, "Yes, he'll be home for dinner." I love our conversations. He's so funny!I'm sure Steve will be plenty busy, but, the blessings far out way the sacrifice and we will just have to make the most of our time together as a family.

I've been rather busy myself. Last week I was called as Primary President in our ward. It's been a long time since I've been in Primary so I'm learning a lot trying to do my best. It's fun working with the children and I have a great Presidency. I know the Lord is truly mindful of us and I hope I can lean and grow a lot from this experience. I guess this means we'll be staying around here for a while. :) I'm happy about that!

13 Shout outs!:
