Halloween 2013

Our Halloween celebrations started off with two fun parties. (For the grown-ups, not the kids!) We dressed up as a monk and a pregnant nun and danced and sang and ate. We had a great time.

Jaxson's friend from school had a pumpkin carving party for the whole family. (Which means Steve and I carved pumpkins and the kids ran around with their friends.) I thought it was a great idea and we all had a good time. The pumpkins turned out pretty cute.
Oh and bonus this year: the naughty neighbor kids stole pumpkins off my porch and carved them in their garage. Seriously. And their mom lied to me about it when I confronted them. The whole thing was really frustrating.

On Halloween night the kids dressed up as Darth Vader, a ballerina, and a dinosaur. (Okay, technically Jakob's costume was a dragon, but he insisted he wanted to be a dinosaur and I already had this costume in the perfect size. He was thrilled!)

He wore the costume everyday for a week before Halloween. The little tail in the back was my favorite!

We had dinner and games at our friends house and then went trick or treating. Jaxson and Ehlana ran through the neighborhood in a stampede with the other kids. Jakob couldn't keep up so he got to knock on every door by himself and say, "Trick or treat. Thank-you." It was adorable. He loved it and wouldn't let anyone help him hold his bucket of candy.
